Not as good as the original

Don't get me wrong--this is a decent stand-alone game. It's just that it doesn't live up to the standard set by the original game.
Characters here are a dour dwarf, a big oafish half-ogre, a sexy illusionist, and a narcissistic bard. However the characters just don't seem as *fun* as they were in the original. The dwarf, in particular, is just kind of dull and uninteresting. What made the first one so good was that the characters were so silly and kinetic. Here, they're just there.
I'm not sure why Slugfest made the decision to release this as a stand-alone game. You get everything that was in the original, again. (To be fair, the new Drinks deck has some new cards, but that's minor.) The only reason I can think of is to allow five- or six-player games. (More than that is probably too many.) Hopefully, if they make any more additions to this excellent game, they'll decide to release characters a-la-carte, or perhaps in two-packs. I really don't want to buy the *entire* game for a third time, but I'd be more than willing to buy some new character decks.
What it comes down to is this: if you don't own the original, buy that first. It's the same game, but better. But if you already have it, this is a more-than-adequate expansion. It's just a pity that they packaged it as they did.

Red Dragon Inn 2 is truly a fantastic game! The adventurers are at the Inn after their adventures, with pockets full of gold and mighty thirst. This is the second installment of the game, and has everything you need to play it on its own, or you can play it along with the first Red Dragon Inn, to expand the number of characters and/or mix up which characters people can use.
You can play the game straight-laced, but it's really meant to be role-played. The characters are rich with possibility, and it's fun to give them life and get into how they would act, using the action cards to help you on your way.
The art is also really great, and SlugFest didn't skimp on the quality of anything. It's top drawer all the way and well worth the price.
Word around the campfire is that Red Dragon Inn 3, with 4 more characters to play, will finally be available at the end of this Spring, a little later than they initially anticipated. I can't wait!

Fun game

Company fast in delivery. If you like D & D you might like this one. It's like you're resting in the end and stealing people's gold.
