Fun and Recommend, after 5x (updated ) 12x

This is my son's toy - I tested it..:)
So far so good. Powerful enough to withstand light wind. I would recommend this, but I only used it once because of a Christmas gift. After confused by the manual, I decided to "just fly it and learn." This is what I found:
Quadcopter-
The two white LED is the front. (I found this extremely Important)
The left stick on the controller is for lift-off (accelerate/up and decelerate/down). Move it to left or right ONLY ROTATE the quadcopter V262. It DOES NOT fly or move while hovering.
The right stick is only for SHIFTING/TILTING: left, right, back, and forward and WILL fly/move to that direction until you let go the stick. Then it just hovers in the air.
To have more fun, use both sticks...once you are familiar with the control.
Controller-
The 40, 60,80, and 100% buttons correspond to the "sharpness" of the SHIFTINGS/TILTING.The higher the percentage, the sharper of the tilt. I recommend to start at 40% (unsure if that is what it does. I based this on observations only)
The controller screen shows all adjustments of the quadcopter. All my settings are in the middle. It hovers without rotating, shifting, or accelerating/lifting. (Luckly, mine came that way). If yours shift or rotate to one side, slide the slider/tab to the opposite to the direction until it correct itself. All four adjustment slider/tab are placed correspond to the what you need to do. Page 4 on manual. I recommend adjusting/trimming the hovering first. (The left Lift-off stick)
Top right corner front button on the controller is for stunt flip. Only perform when quadcopter is at least 15 feet off the ground. It was an accident when I did it. Gave me a fright. The stunt needs at least 4 feet drop
Takes about one full hour to charge. 10 minutes of non stop flying
Play outdoor unless you have a large indoor room or an experience flyer.
Note: I did not use terms like rudder, elevator, crab, throttle, or aileron. I just want it to be simple. Apologized to all the non-novice flyers.
Pros - powerful and ready to fly after charging. Construction and material seems strong enough for minor crashes.
Cons - the manual IS really bad. Small prints. Made in China so the instruction manual is a bit confusing for me. My manual is for model V959 but I purchased V262.???? And the manual called it Quadrocopter not Quadcopter.
You need a large space like a park with no trees around unless you are an experience flyer. I'm not...

Update: 12/29/13 Charged for the 5th time. So far consistent on the time it takes to charge. 1 hr and 20 minutes. Correction on the
flight time. Only 8 minutes 20 seconds of continuous flight not 10 as stated on previous post. Few flips, lots of turns and shifts.
Good 40% in full throttle going up. Constant use of both sticks at the same time.
My last flight lasted 9 minutes and 12 seconds. Why? I turned off the LED lights and I flew it about 30/40 feet off the ground. Mostly
the use of the right stick shifting/rotation and very few lifts. (still fun but not as cool)
I decided to use Gorilla Glue to "anchor" the connection (female end blk/red) wires to the circuit board. The connection wires
required a lot of movement to connect to the battery. Way too much "play" on the soldering. Now the first half inch wires from the
soldering doesn't move. I can turn it any way I see fit. (This is my opinion only. It is NOT required).
Note: The quadcopter will descend (from what I noticed) by itself when battery is low. I can't guarantee that when it is way up high.
So after about 8 minutes of fun, stay low and close. I continue to give a good "Recommend" 4 stars.
Will update after 10 more flights. And try the 1000Mah battery.
Update: 01/10/14 charge time and flight time remain consistent. Crashed onto grass a few times (tumbling) No damage yet. Pretty durable so far; on grassed park with few trees. One of the main anchor to the styrofoam is loose. It is from bad landing. I powered down too quickly while quadcopter still a bit high. Oops!
I read many reviews and I do agree with some of those issues. The motors are hot after the 8-9 minutes of flights, but not enough to remove my fingers. (How hard you push the quadcopter at max speed plays a big role in my opinion)
So far I have 12 total flights and no issues yet. (My second v262 has 4 flights)
The 1000MAh battery gave me extra 2 minutes. Due to the reviews, (overheating the motors) I would not push the quadcopter at full throttle 75% of the flight due to longer flight time with this battery. This is my opinion of course. My flight patterns are mostly below 75% power and few quick burst at 100%. I drop to 20-25% power when gliding down from up high (trying to conserve battery and possibility of cooling the motor.) Save your money. Not worth it for extra 2 minutes. It also too big (I knew this before purchase)to fit into the original battery compartment.
I watched some videos where a camera was attached and it shows the whole neighborhood 5-6 blocks away. So I tried it (95% throttle power) AND yes it can go high; to the point that I was unable to tell if it was moving. (It started to beep) I throttled down to 20% and watched it slide/drop back down. (I performed this after a full/fresh battery installed. Don't do this after a flight, otherwise you might not have enough power to recover from the high slide/drop)
I now have my own quadcopters V262. My 12yrs old son and I fly it together, chasing each other with the quadcopters, (not recommend, It will hurt if the propeller/s touch your head) gliding back and forth, dodging, (also not recommend, it hurts) herding my dog back, (not recommend, might hurt the dog) ect. Binding seems to take longer on mine. Construction was solid. The charger block is different. Otherwise everything is exactly like my son's v262.
I continue to RECOMMEND the v262 quadcopter still only 4 stars. I would give 5 stars if I can use it 100% throttle for most of my flights without worrying about over heating the motors. As long as you don't push it to full throttle, drop landing, and not crash into trees, the v262 should last. This is my last review unless something serious. Have fun flying!

Fun but, has charging issue.

The unit fly's very well and my grandson loves it. There is somewhat of an issue with the charger...the red light does not go off as it should to show a charged battery. The first initial charge worked fine, with the red light going off when charged. The second and third charging times after flying the unit, after two flights, the charger red light is not going off even after 5 hours of charge time when it should only be taking 1 to 1 1/2 hour to charge per instructions.

Perfect for getting started with Quads.

This is a perfect Quad for the First time flyer who is looking to learn
how to fly a RTF (ready to fly kit) all that is required is 6 aa batteries and to charge the battery pack
****NOTE I used my own Lipo Charger to charge the battery****
Flight time is about 8-10 minutes
leave the quad in 40% mode to get used to how it flys
and then work your way up.
(Quad is strong enough to lift a GoPro)
